Open the photo with dark background, preferably a night scene. If you dont have any, use mine, here it is:

Make new layer and fill it with white. Use Brush Pallet Window/Brushes to set the following:

in Brush Tip Shape

Diameter (depending on the size of the picture) is 5px

Hardness is 40%
Spacing is maximum

in Shape Dynamics

Size jitter (means variation - some will be small some big) 70%

Minimum Diameter is 1%

in Scattering
Scatter is maximum
Count is 1
Count jitter is 100%

I am glad you liked it. It was not that hard to make from the technical point of view, but the problem was that I have not seen the shooting star for longer than 2 nanoseconds :) Good idea, I am so proud of myself :D thx

Very nice tutorial, but as an amateur-astronomer I can say that the stars as well as the comet look lousy, sorry.
